Brass is an alloy of Copper and Zinc and has been used by man for thousands of years. As can be expected, Brass is very durable, hard wearing and aesthetically pleasing. It enhances the surrounding appearance and gives it a serious and classy look.
Brass has been used as an engraving facia for hundreds of years and for a long period it was the only material used for such work. At Skyline Plastic Works we give you the opportunity to have your signs, logo and letters engraved on Brass. As it used to be in the good old times.
Our Brass is polished and 1.2mm thick. As in all our engravings, and although Brass is very hard to work, we can still engrave any font type or lettering style and any logo or design you like. Basically anything you want.
Once ready, you can fill the engraved space with any colour you desire or any combination of colour shades you need. Nothing is impossible as long as you ask us.
We can also provide you with an acrylic or wooden backing to finish off your sign. The Brass facia can also be fixed with its backing or the wall by means of very elegant Cup-Screws. The head of these self-tapping screws will be covered by a brass cup for a very deluxe finish.
In order to minimise the cleaning time, some prefer their Brass sign to be sprayed-covered by a thin layer of lacquer. This will prohibit direct contact between the brass and the air and therefore the brass will take much longer to lose its shine. We can also provide this service, although we will also advice you on some negative aspects when using this method.
But no matter how you order your sign, we always guarantee to give you any maintenance you will require with your brass signs, example re-polishing the surface, re-painting the infill, removing and re-spraying the lacquer, etc.
