What is engraving? The definition of engraving is " to cut (a design or lettering) on a hard surface (eg. metal or plastic) with a sharp tool ".
And that is what we do exactly.
We cut with a sharp tool by means
of the latest mechanical and
electronic technology available.
Skyline Plastic Works has invested
in the past and is still investing today
in state-of-the-art machinery that
enables us to provide all our clients'
needs in the least possible time and
the best finish.
We cut designs or lettering. Well, we
actually can engrave anything our
clients want; any design, any logo
and any font. We cut on hard surfaces, not only metals like brass, stainless steel and aluminium, plastics like acrylic and PVC, but also any kind of wood and glass.
The facia on which we engrave
can have any shape or size you
require as both the width and the
the length can go up to large
dimensions. The colour possibilities
are also large. This depends on the
material used, for example wood,
brass and stainless steel have their
own natural colour. On the other
hand acrylic, aluminium or PVC offers you the possibility to choose from more than 44 opaque colours and 13 transparent shades, including Gold, Silver and Mirror. You can also select the thickness of the facia you need, from 2mm to 25mm (1/16" to 1").
As our engraving machines are
computerized and use the latest
technology, including laser, any
type of design, logo or font can be
engraved. The size is only restricted
by the 140cm maximum width of the
facia and can be any length from
3mm (1/8") upwards. With the exception of PVC and glass, which have their own infill colour, all the other materials used for the facia can have their engraving infilled by any colour of your choice. Any colour from the thousands of paint shades available commercially can be used. Through our vast experience, Skyline
Plastic Works can also gives you the
opportunity to use more than one
colour in the same engraving, thus
the possibility to have your logo in
its original full colour and not
monochrome (just one colour).
We offer you a number of special
engraving possibilities, like
engraving in various different
languages including Arabic and also
Braille, the language of the blind.
When using transparent backing we
can engrave from the back, giving
you the possibility to have a flat
surface on the front and we offer you
also 3-D Engraving. We can engrave
on flat and round surfaces, example
glass bottles and glasses.
As Skyline Plastic Works provides a large number of different products, Engraving can be combined with other products for original and
interesting signage. Example, the combination between engraving on transparent acrylic and Neon tubing provides a very interesting means
of advertising your logo or name.
What are the advantages of engraving
when compared with other signage
possibilities? The main advantage is the
fact that engraving gives you a long
lasting sign. This is achieved as the
facia and the engraved logo / letters are
made from the same material, not made
of different items or materials and glued
together. Besides, when the infill starts
to fade or loose its colour all you have to do is to bring the sign back to us and we will re-colour your logo / letter using the same colour shade or even changing it for a new colour.
